What is your background?
I was born and raised here in sunny Southern California, and now I am raising my own two little ones here! I am a two-time GraceFull Mama, giving birth to both my boys at home in water. I graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Psychology. Under a UCLA professor, I conducted an experiment on audio-visual correlation on autistics, we found significant findings, and our study was published! This gave me a BIG heart for autistic children and I began providing behavioral therapy in their homes and at their schools. I knew that I would have to acquire higher education if I wanted to stay in the field, and I just didn't want to go back to school! So another door opened and it was in the field of... INSURANCE???! I became a licensed broker of California and worked for a brokerage firm to help employers and their benefits. I later left the firm to become a stay-at-home mom and I never looked back. Being Mama is the best! =)
Why did you chose to work in Insurance?
My passion for insurance and out-of-hospital births kind of landed in my lap. When trying to navigate the insurance world for my first son, I thought it was going to be easy as a licensed insurance broker. Sure wasn't! My heart went out to the community around me who also wanted out-of-hospital births and I wanted to provide assistance. It is a beautiful marriage, because as crazy as it sounds, I love insurance and I love out of hospital births. I guess everyone has a unique calling!
What is your favorite baked good?
I love baking, so I am a sucker for homemade baked goods! Homemade pies and homemade carrot cake... but the one that currently takes the cake (pun intended) is my brother-in-law's homemade chocolate cookies. I die!
And your favorite quote?
"But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31We are blessed to have Nicole guide us through all of our insurance and billing needs at GraceFull!
