Dr. Bryant Esquejo, ND
How did you get into Naturopathic Medicine?
I got into Naturopathic Medicine through my travels and the desire to help people out. I knew I wanted to be a healer from an early age because of personal experiences with health and loss. In college, I had the opportunity to first travel to Costa Rica for a study abroad program, where I first saw the power of natural medicine. I was cutting mango trees in the middle of the rainforest, and I saw that my ankles were swollen from ant bites. When I got home to my host family, my host mom bathed my feet in some herbs, and the swelling went down. After that, I became interested in natural medicine and wanted to know more. So, I traveled to China - Beijing, Xi’an, and Shanghai - to see the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After seeing how effective natural treatments were in hospitals, I decided to go into natural medicine and apply to naturopathic medical school in Portland, OR.
